La Doloresis a Spanish opera (ópera Española) in 3 acts byTomás Bretón. The libretto was arranged by composer himself from a same-name drama byJosep Feliu i Codina(1892). The opera was first performed at theTeatro de la Zarzuelain Madrid on 16 March 1895[1]and was an immediate success. The most famous piece from the opera is the grandiosejotafrom the finale of the first act.
