If only I could see again 별 같이 영롱한 어머니의 눈빛을

The twinkle in my mother's eyes  내가 다시 볼 수 있다면,

To hear again her gentle voice   어머니의 부드러운 음성 다시 들을 수 있다면, 

And have her hold me when I cried.  내가 울 때 어머니가 안아줄 수 있다면 얼마나 좋을가...

 

If only she could be here now  나의 고민 풀어주실

To help me free my troubled mind  어머니가 지금 여기 계시다면 얼마나 좋을가...  

I wonder if my mother knows  내가 마음의 평온 찾으려 애썼지만

Although I've tried, no peace I find.  마음의 평온을 찾지 못한 것을 알고나 계실가... 

 

It seems a hundred years ago    내가 소리내어 울 때 나의 눈물 닦아주던 것이,

That when I cried she'd wiped my tears  내가 넘어졌을 때 용케도 거기에 나타나서

And just like magic when I'd fallen  겁에질린 나를 일으켜 세우시던 것이,

She'd be right there to calm my fears. 마치 백년은 지난 듯이 느껴지네
