What though the radiance whitch was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight.
한 때 그 처럼 찬란한 빛이
이제 눈 앞에서 사라졌다한들 어떠하리.
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass , of glory in the flower.
초원의 빛과 꽃의 아름다움을 보았던
지난 시간을 되돌릴 수 없다한들 어떠하리.
We will grieve not , rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
우리는 슬퍼하지 않으리
오히려 뒤에 남은 것에서 힘을 얻으리니;
In the primal sympathy
Whitch having been must ever be ;
지금 까지 있었고 앞으로도 영원히 존재하는
(자연과 교감하는) 본원적 공감에서 ;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
인간의 고통으로 부터 솟아나
마음을 위로하는 생각에서;
In the faith that looks through death
In years that bring the philosophic mind.
죽음 너머를 바라보는 신앙에서
그리고 지혜로운 정신을 가져다 주는 세월에서.
